Happy Spring! Where I live, plants are starting to poke their heads through the ground and many trees have specks of green on the tips of their branches. I love this time of year and watch with wonder as the world yawns, stretches, and awakens from the deep sleep of winter. I'm amazed at how gracefully Mother Nature goes about her business rolling from one season into the next.
I can't say I've always rolled gracefully from one season of my life into the next. There have been moments of kicking and screaming and full-fledged resistance to the change. Can you relate? I think most of us have been down that road.
And while it's important to be real with what we are feeling, there comes a time when we get to choose whether we want to keep feeling the resistance or move forward. In the act of moving forward, I think Mary Engelbreit's simple two-step life instructions sums up the process beautifully: Step 1. Put one foot in front of the other. Step 2. Repeat.
Whatever stage of life you are currently in, know that I am cheering for you and believe in your ability to keep walking forward, one baby step at a time!
